Terms of Use
Last updated: September 24, 2026
The short version
Kolo is for talking with friends, groups, and communities. Be decent to people. There is zero tolerance for abuse, illegal content, and harming others. If you break these rules, we can remove your content and close your account.
Who can use Kolo
You need to be at least 16 years old to use Kolo. By creating an account, you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy.
Your account
You’re responsible for what happens in your account. Keep your password and recovery phrase safe, and don’t hand your account to someone else. Don’t pick a name, username, or avatar that pretends to be another person or an organization.
What’s not allowed
- Spam and mass messages people didn’t ask for.
- Scams, fraud, and tricking people out of money or data.
- Harassment, bullying, threats, and hate against people for who they are.
- Violence, calls for violence, and support for terrorism.
- Any sexual content involving minors. We remove it and report it to the authorities.
- Sharing intimate images of someone without their consent, and sexual content in public profiles, groups, or channels.
- Selling or promoting illegal goods and services, such as drugs or weapons.
- Malware, hacking attempts, and anything that attacks Kolo or its users.
- Creating accounts in bulk or getting around a ban.
Reports and blocking
You can report any message, person, group, or channel right in the app, and block anyone. Reports go to the Kolo team. No one else sees who sent a report.
Private chats are end-to-end encrypted, so we can’t read them. A report carries only the reason and what you add yourself; the app doesn’t send the messages. We act on what we can see: reports, public content, and how an account behaves.
What we do about it
We review reports within 24 hours. Depending on what happened, we can remove public content, take someone out of public groups and channels, limit an account, or close it for good. When the law requires it, we work with the authorities.
Your content
What you post stays yours. By posting it, you let Kolo store it and deliver it to the people it’s meant for, including visitors of a public profile or channel. We don’t use your content for ads.
The service
We’re a small team and we keep improving Kolo. Features can change, and sometimes something may not work. Kolo is provided as is, to the extent the law allows.
Leaving Kolo
You can delete your account anytime in the app under Profile → Privacy. We can close an account that breaks these terms.
Changes
When we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll let you know in the app. If you keep using Kolo after that, you accept the new version.
